During recent months there has been a lot of “mud slinging” by the 2 other Volvo related forums/sites in the UK towards the Volvo performance club, in a vain attempt to discredit/ defame us. Accusations have been made (normally by a select few) who feel it necessary to try and put us down as a site and glorify whichever team they support at the time.
This shallow minded hearsay based on their own beliefs and no facts whatsoever has prompted this statement from myself as the owner of this club, and also Mrsmopp as a devoted co ordinator of the site.
So to clear up a few things:
Missdmeanor was not banned from this site due to the fact that she was a customer of SW auto’s, but solely due to personal issues that were current at that time. Further more we would never remove a member due to which garage they use. Period!
Mr Don Norchi of Kalmar union was banned from the previous running site due to repeated sales posts advertising his products/services without prior consent, he was reminded of the rules at that time on several occasions to which he chose not to adhere.
There were also other issues with him having several usernames on the site (also contravening forum rules) and trying to discredit our site at every given opportunity, the fact that he has "called" members of staff from VPCUK to his customers over the telephone, and on other web sites shows all the actions of a man who appears not to want to be part of our forum and yet complains he cannot get access at every given opportunity. Therefore, he is not welcome.
The VPC does not wish to be involved in the constant sniping and bitching that goes on and wishes to remain completely independent of the backstabbing that goes on, on other related sites. We hold no grudges to any members of other forums and make everybody welcome equally if they wish to be a part of the VPC, as long as they abide by our rules.
Despite all of the non factual comments that have been made, contrary to belief, we have not hidden away or had something to hide, we as a group did not want to sink to the level that others have chosen, and have refrained from getting involved in slagging matches instigated by the same select few.
We personally, and I’m sure I speak for many members too, would like nothing more than these so called flame wars, created by the same select minority time after time, to be extinguished, There is enough room in the world for the very few sites that are Volvo related to co-exist on the net, without the constant malicious hearsay that we have seen of late.
And finally, as some of you will not know, 2 years ago a huge effort was made to unite ourselves with one of the other sites, a massive meet was planned of joint nature and every effort was made to have a good working relationship, however all of this fell on deaf ears with a general disinterest and “No thanks” We have done everything possible to be involved elsewhere without slinging any mud, all of which has been thrown back at us 10 fold.
I hope that this statement has cleared up most if not all of the points that some of you have raised recently, should you have any thoughts regarding this and any other issues please feel free to email me or Mrsmopp.
