aka Should I change my HT leads?

I know pretty much everything that is going on with my car. She'd past through 152K 2 days ago BTW. I want to be sure she is in tip top condition, especially with Avon park. To my knowledge the leads have not been changed for a good while - but I was always told that plug leads either work or don't, there is no "sort of work". So am I wasting money by changing them?

BTW the plugs get changed today - which is why I ask.

Depends on the condition of the leads. I bet there are loads of folk on here who have changer their leads trying to fix an anoying fault only to find its something else. If the cables corrode internally, the resistance will increase. Because of the HT nature of what they are carrying, resistance problems are not as critical to create a spark. BUT if the connections are corroded and so the resistance is increased, spark intensity will be reduced. Does this matter? If you believe the hype on the back of a pack of plugs then yes. In practice, probably not.
