Of course Volvo have used Renault engines in the past but I don't think the T5 engine is anything to do with them.

Hi mate, firstly welcome to the forum.....

What kind of faults has it had?

£7k is way to much money for that car, its maybe worth £5k max, I heard of one that sold recently for around that money with half the milage and 2 years younger

Also the T5 engine aint renault as far as I know lol

I would walk away and you will find one on here soon.......

p.s Example... unfortunately now sold.....

7 grand for that is daylight robbery!!

For 7 grand you'll get under 60K miles and 5/6 years old or younger.

Keep huntin' - that saleman sounds like a right muppet. T5 is anything but it aint FRENCH! :slap:

Wow!!
7 grand. That's alot.

I just bought my first C70 T5. T reg. 100,000 full service for £3200. A few little problems, won't cost much, but for that money i dont mind doing them. It's a good way to learn about the car as well.

Volvo 5 pot was designed in conjunction with Porche, porche are closly linked to Audi who designed the first 5 pot petrol that was first seen in the audi 100 in 1977 a turbo charged version was availabe in 1979 and the full blown quatro was either 1981 or 82.
Mercedes designed the first 5 pot diesel in 1976 and even built a 200 mph prototype with a big turbo at the same time. Fastest diesel in the world at the time.
The whole idea of the five pot was to design the smoothness and power of a 6 pot with the economy. 5 cylinders is meant to be the best balanced engine in the world!
I know the renault safrane used a 5 pot , Im sure this wasnt there own ,stupid sales man!

if you have a look on www.fortauto.com there is a silver t5,that the one.it's had abs problems turbo problems, and a few other things can't remember what they were.they has a r reg aswell they want £6500 for that with 80000 ish on the clock, wasn't going to buy it,just had a look to make sure there was enough room inside for the boss and 2 kids.my dad has a 850 2.0 20v had it 3 years and no problems, just fancied a volvo cuz they don't get many problems.oooooooo and the etm has not been changed so with all the other things it's had wrong i'll bet £50 that would be next
