Following on from Jimmyc's thread below, I'm looking to convert my 2001 P2 V70 T5 to self levelling, and a local Volvo dealer quoted over £800 for the parts (shocks and springs).

I know the shocks are expensive, but are different springs needed as well? Has anybody done the conversion before?? At that price, I'll have to consider some assistors, or the Rossinin muscle kit. Any opinions on these??

The cheapest option would be to see if anyone on here is converting the other way round and buy their nivomats and springs, otherwise invest in Monroe Load Levellers or similar air suspension setup.

Look for someone with an ex-police car who's converting.
The standard police spec on a P2 V70 is higher-than-normal springs and self-levelling shocks.
Sorry, I've already thrown mine away.
Try asking at VolvoTuning if they have anyone coming in for the suspension upgrade (lower Eibach springs & Monroe shocks), and whether you can keep the kit that comes off.

I'll do that, thanks. I don't realy want increased ride height when unladen, just the benfits when towing.

Thanks guys.
