No this infact car is on auto trader website. It`s a 94 estate manual, What is the difference in a T-5 and a 850 turbo, Smaller turbo or something?

Is the name T-5 actually printed on the v-5 document?

The 850 turbo was the pre T5 model on a 93 plate. Not 100% sure of the differences mind you as I have never really looked into it.

A 2.3 turbo is a T5 if on a 94 plate onwards - even if the trader says different ;)

Exact horses then. Test drove one last night, never seen one before, they must have built them for insane caravan drivers, quickest car I have driven! The size of the beast makes it even more amusing to drive

The one I saw last night had an ABS light on and a engine managment fault light on, the manual stated it was an oil mixture problem. Needless to say I walked away, but not before having a blast in it. I know it`s a bit boyracer`ish but what do the low cost mods like air-filters and ecu chips offer bhp wise.

Air filters about 50 quid for ITG or K&N, ecu upgrades are about £350 for a base map of either 280 or 300bhp - small price to pay hey? ;)

The one I saw last night had an ABS light on and a engine managment fault light on LOL definitely a T5 then! Usually nothing too much to worry about though, more often than not it's a case of resetting it and forgetting.

driven lightly with 280 bhp would in your knowledge the mpg be much different to that of a standard model

Both the 280 and 300 map will return roughly the same mpg (often better) mpg if driven the same as you did when standard

I know the RICA 280 map will run very happily on 95 ron where as the 300 map is recommended on 97+ ron

what happens if you run the 310 on normal 95 ron fuel then?, are we talking pinking etc, or something worse?

Also, will certainly be re-mapping to 280 bhp for £350, would you know the web address of a company that can offer this

I really fancy going the whole hog if its going to be done, but I'm not sure how often I can get all the way across town to fill up with Optiflop. Is there a big difference between the two or is not that noticable?.

Mrsmopp

Well I am now in a position to give my honest opinion of both the 280 map and the 300 mao (LOL)

There is a difference between the 2, the 280 is smoother, you still get pinned to the back of your seat but you dont get that "kick up the arse" feeling as well as you do with a 300map.

I think the 280 map is much better suited to the urban driving, not having to hunt round for optiplop is an added bonus too. Essentially if you have the 300 map and you fill it up with 95 it feels like the 280 but rougher so if you dont think you'll be able to use optiplop regularly you may as well have the 280.

There are a couple of options, I use RICA as they have always been spot on and I trust them wholeheartedly with my cars.

VolvoTuning supply the RICA software and they have a offer in our discounts section ;)
