Look at the top of the metal bit on your dip stick it will be the gasket/O ring on there,Quite a common problem on these older cars.

When was the Oil changed..?
Has the car been left unused for any length of time?
I have picked up cars with suspect head gasket just due to the oils digrading in a car that has not been used for a while. After a good oil change where you leave the car draining for a few hours to get as much oil out as possible it clears up this possible minor problem....
worst case is the head gasket has gone / cracked piston liner ...
At least get it checked over sooner rather than later......

I heard somewhere that condensation (and then sludge) form in the dipstick tube because of the cold air hitting the outside of dipstick tube when travelling. I had this in mine and immediately thought the worst. Under the oil filler cap was fine though, so an oil change later and I've had no repeats thankfully.
