Hi mate just a quick note mate i have just replaced mine and all is now ok (i take it your abs light is on) 2 things have you had it checked to confirm that it is deffo the ecu and not a sensor?? if it is the ecu remember to take it to a main stealer or specialist to have the fault codes cleared or the light will still be on

Just a quick question.... If I remove the ABS ECU do the brakes just work as a normal system...? (reference to the ABS overworking issue I had at Ty-Croes)
If I can unplug it for a track day then re-attach it for the drive home that would be fantastic....

You will have just normal brakes and no tracs plus no speedo reading ? not sure if you can just unplug but my mate when he does the off roading challenges in his mk3 trooper we just pull the fuse out as it gives you normall brakes

I suppose i could just unplug the ABS wheel sensors from each wheel (or maybe wire them all into a switch.)

True . I'll have to check the wiring diagram first. as I don't want to disable anything else..

No Air con fitted...... but all heating has been removed and by-passed any way. Thinking of electric power steering pump but I'm not sure on the voltage drop vs power consideration...

I can get a half size Crankshaft pulley and smaller belt that reduces load if required...
