...in the dipstick chamber, anyone seen this b4? My mechanic says its normal but id just like to clarify.

It is common if the car is left to stand for a couple of days at a time, and not used daily.

It is normal, but there are one or two easy fixes that you can perform, it does involve going to your local volvo dealer or asking T5ER for the parts. You will need an oil filler cap gasket and a dipstick gasket. Fit them (easy job), no tools required and run the car like you would normally for a week or so, then check the dipstick again and see if its improved. If not, search on the forum for PCV and you will find a massive thread about changing that system.
