Wishbone Bush Replacement

Ex Plod V70 with non-standard wishbone bushes, upgrading to polyflex.

  1. Alternative spec bush, solid bush and thicker metal sleeve and larger pin.

  2. Alternative spec bush, solid bush and thicker metal sleeve and larger pin.

  3. Here we have the start, I have already cleaned with wire wheels the arm sleeve and the pin. new bush ready.

  4. Notice the step inside the top ( front ) of the bush.

  5. Lined up together.

  6. Ahh, first problem, the pin is not stepped!! and the bush is!

  7. Arm sleeve cleaned and ready to go.

  8. Bush aligned..

  9. The bush aligns here and the pin needs to end up in this position when done.

  12. Whoopee, got me lathe working and a hour later I have a nice turned up standard shaft ready to be bushed!!!

  13. Pin fitted to bush, thanks to press..

  14. Pin seated centrally in the bush.

  15. Now push the completed assembly into the arm. press to hand...

  16. Thankfully it doesn't take much pressure to puch the whole thing through the arm.

  17. Complete job, bush and pin ready to go.

  18. Arm back on car fits a treat, found it easier to fit with the calliper bracket removed, makes the rear bush slip in a treat.
